This policy explains how cookies and similar technologies are used on this website, operated by J V Plumbing & Heating Limited, trading as Videtta.

What cookies are

Cookies are small text files that a website can store on your device. Alongside them, sites can use similar technologies such as browser localStorage, which stores information in your browser in much the same way. They are widely used to make websites work, to remember choices, and to measure how a site is used.

What this site uses

To keep it simple, this site uses:

• Google Analytics (GA4) — analytics cookies that help us understand how the site is used, so we can improve it (see the next section);
• the online boiler quote tool (Surefire), which sets its own cookies and browser storage when you use it (see below).

We do not use advertising, retargeting or social-media tracking cookies. You may also pick up strictly necessary cookies — for example, ones your browser or our hosting and security layer use to keep the site working and secure. Strictly necessary cookies do not require consent under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR).

Analytics (Google Analytics 4)

We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4), a service provided by Google, to measure how people find and use this site — for example which pages are visited, how long people stay, and whether an enquiry was sent. This helps us see what’s working, improve the site, and measure how well our advertising performs.

GA4 sets a small number of first-party analytics cookies in your browser:

• _ga — distinguishes one visitor from another; lasts up to 2 years.
• _ga_E1ZYS5F05H (a _ga_<id> cookie tied to this site’s measurement ID) — keeps track of a single visit, or session; lasts up to 2 years.

These are non-essential analytics cookies. The data is used in aggregate to understand usage trends; we do not use it to identify you personally. We do not currently show a cookie consent banner, so GA4 loads for all visitors. If you would rather not be measured, you can block or clear cookies in your browser (see below) or install Google’s browser opt-out add-on. Google processes this data in line with its own privacy and cookie policies.

The online boiler quote tool

Our online boiler quote page uses a third-party tool from Surefire (Surequote) to build your fixed price on screen. To do that, the tool stores information in your browser — including non-essential cookies and browser localStorage — for example to remember your answers as you move through the questions and to run the quote. These are set by Surefire when you use the tool; they are not set on the rest of the site.

We do not currently show a cookie consent banner, and we do not block the tool behind one. If you would rather not have these set, you can:

• use our enquiry form or call us instead of the online quote tool; or
• clear or block cookies and site data in your browser (see below).

The enquiry form

Our quote and enquiry form sends your details to our CRM. Using the form does not require advertising cookies. Where the form or its provider sets a strictly-necessary cookie to submit securely or prevent spam, that is used only for that purpose. Managing cookies

You can control and delete cookies and other stored site data through your browser settings, and most browsers let you clear localStorage for a specific site. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may affect how parts of the site work; blocking cookies and storage for the quote tool may stop it from working.

We will update this policy whenever our use of cookies changes. The date at the top shows when it was last updated.
